Terms and Conditions

1. Who we are

More Techies Academy ("the Academy", "we", "us") is operated by More Techies Ltd, 13 Oluwole Street, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Nigeria. You can reach us at hello@moretechies.co. These terms apply to the website at academy.moretechies.co and everything on it, including courses, bundles, More Techies Plus, study pods, certificates and the affiliate programme.

2. Your account

• You create your account with your name and email address, usually when you pay for a course or membership.
• Give us accurate information and keep it up to date. Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
• An account is for one person. Do not share your login, and do not let others use your account to watch courses.
• If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to help you sign up and to agree to these terms for you.
• Tell us straight away at hello@moretechies.co if you think someone else has used your account.

3. Courses, bundles and More Techies Plus

• Courses and bundles are self-paced. You learn when it suits you. Access to a course you have bought continues for as long as that course is available on the Academy. If we decide to retire a course, we will give you reasonable notice.
• More Techies Plus is a membership that gives you access to the Academy's courses for the period you have paid for, monthly or yearly. It does not renew automatically, so you are never charged again unless you choose to renew.
• Course descriptions, lesson counts, durations and what you will learn are given in good faith and may change as we improve a course.
• Some features, such as assignments, quizzes and study pods, may only be available on some courses.

4. Prices, payment and promotions

• Prices are shown in Nigerian Naira or US Dollars. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay. Any tax or bank charges that apply are shown or applied by your payment provider.
• Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Bachs. We do not see or store your full card details.
• We may change prices or run promotions at any time. A change does not affect something you have already paid for.
• Coupon and promotion codes are for the person they were given to, can expire, and cannot be combined unless we say so. Affiliate links and codes credit the affiliate for a sale. They do not give you a discount.
• Access starts once your payment is confirmed. If you were charged but did not get access, contact us and we will fix it.

5. Refunds

A course or bundle can be refunded only if you ask within 3 days of paying and have not watched any of it. More Techies Plus is non-refundable. The full details are in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

6. Our content and your licence

The Academy's lessons, videos, text, quizzes, templates, graphics, logos and software belong to More Techies Ltd or the people who licence them to us. When you pay, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use that content for your own learning. You must not:

• copy, record, download, share, resell, publish or teach from our content without our written permission;
• use our content to train an AI model or build a competing product;
• remove copyright or branding notices, or try to get around any access limit.

7. Using the Academy properly

You agree not to:

• break the law, or help someone else do so;
• harass, abuse, threaten or discriminate against other learners or our team, including in study pods and messages;
• upload malware, or attack, overload or try to break into the website or other people's accounts;
• use bots, scrapers or other automated tools on the Academy without our written permission;
• cheat, for example by submitting someone else's work as yours, or by sharing quiz answers to get a certificate unfairly;
• pretend to be someone else, or give false information to get a refund, a coupon or commission.

8. Your work and posts

You keep ownership of what you create, such as assignments, notes and posts. You give us permission to store, display and use that content so we can run the Academy, for example to mark your work, show it to your instructor, or show your posts to other members of a study pod. You are responsible for what you post. Do not post anything you do not have the right to share, or anything unlawful, offensive or private about someone else. We may remove content that breaks these terms.

9. Certificates

A course that includes a certificate issues one when you complete that course's requirements. Each certificate has a code, and anyone with the code can check your name, the course and the issue date on our verification page. A certificate shows that you completed a course with us. It is not a degree or an official qualification. We may cancel a certificate that was obtained by cheating, fraud or a mistake.

10. Other people's services and links

The Academy uses services from other companies, such as payments, email, hosting and chat, and may link to other websites. We do not control those services or websites and are not responsible for them. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to them. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your data.

11. Affiliate programme

If you apply to or join the affiliate programme, the Affiliate Terms also apply to you.

12. No guarantees about results

We work hard to make useful, practical courses. However, what you earn from learning depends on you, and we cannot promise any particular result. We do not guarantee that you will get a job, a promotion, clients or any level of income, or that you will finish a course or pass a quiz. Salary figures, career advice and examples in our courses and blog are for general information only and are not professional, legal or financial advice.

13. The service and changes to it

We aim to keep the Academy available and working, but we cannot promise it will always be free of errors, interruptions or delays, for example during maintenance or because of problems with our providers. We may improve, change or remove features, courses and content from time to time.

14. Suspending or ending your account

You can stop using the Academy and delete your account from your dashboard settings at any time. We may suspend or close an account, with or without notice, if you break these terms, put other users or the Academy at risk, or misuse refunds, coupons or commission. If we close your account for breaking these terms, you may not be entitled to a refund. Sections that are meant to continue after an account ends, such as intellectual property and liability, will continue.

15. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Nigerian law that cannot be limited, or our responsibility for anything the law does not allow us to exclude. Beyond that, and as far as the law allows:

• we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable, or for lost profits, income or opportunities;
• our total responsibility to you for anything connected with the Academy is limited to the amount you paid us for the course, bundle or membership the claim relates to, in the 12 months before the claim arose.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If you have a problem, please contact us first at hello@moretechies.co so we can try to sort it out. If we cannot, the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, will have jurisdiction, unless the law gives you the right to go elsewhere.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. When we make a significant change we will tell you, for example by email or a notice on the site. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the Academy after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
